Butterflies in Kākano

There has been a huge interest in the life cycle of the Monarch Butterfly in the Kākano Hub this term.
The students have really enjoyed watching the caterpillars feed and feed on the swan plants. They have watched in wonder as the caterpillars turned into chrysalises. We saw children show great patience as they checked each day to see the progress  and finally  after a few weeks being able to watch butterflies emerge. Lots of amazing questions and enthusiasm from the children. Today the children were very excited to show Fr Tien!

Today the students had a visit from The Butterfly Lady. They learned about the life cycle of the butterfly. You can see more pictures of this on the Kākano Hub blog.
