Hrihaan's knowledge about DNA & RNA

This YouTube video is of Hrihaan's understanding about DNA. And the picture of his drawing. He noticed one day from my book and recognised the DNA double helix and I saw his interest about it and asking me lot of questions. I provided information as much as I could by moulding it into simpler version. Then after a week I found him drawing this and explaining to his little sister. Then I gave him play dough to get more explanation from him.

  1. Hi Hrihaan
You have been very busy learning lots about DNA. I loved how you have been teaching your little sister about DNA too. Your playdough model was very helpful in your video to see what DNA looks like. Thanks for teaching me about DNA. I wonder what other science you have been learning about at home?

  2. Kia ora Hrihaan,
This learning is amazing and had my son and I completely engaged. You have explained what DNA and RNA are so clearly. I did not learn this until I was in high school and do you know what? I think your explanation was easier to understand than what I was taught.
Does our DNA look the same as a dogs DNA?

  3. Hi Hrihaan,
I love your drawing of the DNA strands - thats very clever! You even have the DNA bases in their matching pairs. I love learning about science too. Very cool!

  4. Kia ora Hrihaan,
Wow, thank you so much for teaching me something new! I'm a Manaiakalani facilitator that works in schools helping teachers with their technology learning, just like Mr Maddren, who might come to your school? I've been looking for videos of learners just like you, teaching people about science. There aren't that many out there, so thank you for being one of the first I've found! Your playdough model made everything really easy to understand. I wonder if some of our older learners could make models like this too! What was your favourite part of making your video? Have you made other videos like this? It's such a wonderful way to help make learning simpler for people to understand! Thank you!
    Keep up the great blogging!
